Solar Power for Farms and Acreages
Like farming, solar is a long term investment. It reduces operating costs and can lower the demand charges at times when you need to run grain dryers or other high power demand equipment. With more space, there are more options for panel arrays and battery backups.
Agricultural Clean Technology Program: 50% Rebate
The Federal Government is rolling out Green funding for farmers. You can receive 50% of the cost of your system back. This could be combined with other funding for up to 75% of the cost of your system.
With Solar power systems that could pay for themselves in as little as 7 years, or less, and last more than 35 years, Solar Power is an excellent investment.

Benefits of solar power
On Farms & Acreages
- Snow reflection improves winter production for ground mounted arrays
- Higher resale value with off grid power options
- Protection from utility price increases
- Offsets higher costs of electric heating and appliances
- Extra space means optimal panel array and orientation
Reliable Energy Savings and Environmental Benefits
GROUND MOUNTED SYSTEMS
Ideal for farms, acreages and other rural areas with plenty of open space. They can be installed at an optimum angle and location and are easily accessible for clearing any snow that may accumulate in the winter.
Suncatcher Solar Systems Have
Internet Monitoring
Our solar power systems include an internet monitoring that shows what your solar array is producing at any time, as well as overall production per day, per week, per month, and since the system was installed. The webpage will also show what this means in terms of the environmental impact you’re making with your solar power system.
Your monitoring display also shows a broad overview of the solar production and environmental benefits in an easy to read format. You can see how it works by checking out the live monitoring on the Solar Co-op system installed on the Two Twenty building in Saskatoon, and the one on the Saskatoon SPCA.
